National Geographic has a nice write-up about the research done by the San Diego Zoo’s Institute for Conservation Research into cheetah vocalizations. This was predominantly done by our Behavioral Biology division. Matt Anderson gave a talk about the early stages of this project sometime last year, I think, and it was terribly interesting.  It’s nice to see that the research has paid off, in the form of an adorable baby. I went up to the Wild Animal Park nursery to see her the other day. She’s much more docile and sleepy in person.
